Hello 2011

Goodbye 2010. You were a decent year. And I really needed a decent year after a string of crappy years. Though you were a year of many changes in my life, I am learning to embrace change (though it isn't easy for me). Hope 2011 is just as decent or even better! (Oh and a couple less changes would be good).

Tis the Season

I need to update my blog with lots of holiday stuff. But I think for now I will just enjoy spending time with my most favorite people (and dog). Hope all of your holidays were wonderful!

Lego Christmas Village add-ons

This year we added a couple things to our Lego Christmas village:

A skating rink

A bakery

and Brett built a caboose for the train

Can I tell you how much I love this little tradition?  It is so fun to build the village every year as a family and to watch Brett and the kids create new little details to add (like this tree with presents and toys under it).

All I want for Christmas is my ONE front tooth

Puppy Dog

We sure love our puppy.

We have had this little stinker for 6 months now.  I know she is just a dog but she has sure been a wonderful addition to our family.  You can't help but feel happy and playful when she is around.  She is spoiled rotten and very loved.  It is so nice to always have something so excited to see you and be around you.  We are glad to have her.

I don't think I have mentioned it on here, but Brett went back to school in August to get his Master's degree.  His work is paying for it, and we feel like it is a good time in our lives for him to do this. 

He finished his first Semester today (with flying colors, cause he is smart like that). 

Proud of you babe.  You ROCK!

This year's Ornaments

 We get our kids and each other an ornament every year.  Usually it is something that applies to that year somehow.

This year I couldn't think of anything for Gavin, but this tubing boy reminded me of him.

 Brynn's is a puppy because of her new puppy she got this year.

 Alec tried Basketball this year.

I got a lobster from Nova Scotia, and Brett got an ornament from our trip to Washington this year.

Grrr

I tried to change my blog around and now I can't change the colors of titles and stuff.  The template designer won't load.  Not sure I am a fan of these blogger changes.  Anyone have any suggestions? 

Must be doing something right (with at least one of our kids)

Brynn just came up to me with all her savings in her money box (7 dollars), and asked me if she could donate it to a charity their school is donating to for underprivileged kids this Christmas. That makes me proudly smile. That little girl has such a big heart.
