Already hormonal...we are in big trouble!

Lately Brynn has been crying uncontrollabley (who knows if that is spelled right). Something small usually sets her off and then she cries, and cries, and cries.

Mom: "Brynn why are you still crying."
Brynn: (sobbing) "I don't know!"
Mom: "Brynn, are you sad about something?"
Brynn: (sobbing) "I don't know!"
Mom: "Brynn if you tell me why you are crying then I can help you."
Brynn: (really sobbing) "MOM I DON'T KNOW WHY I AM CRYING!" (continues to cry for another half hour)

Welcome to the world of being a girl my little daughter!

4 days later...

I guess me secretly wishing Winter would stick around didn't really work. Today is a beautiful Spring day. And that is okay because of these:

I love tulips. They just put a smile on my face dispite everything else that may be going on.

I am secretly smiling

So today we woke up to yet another snow storm. While the snow didn't stick to the ground, it did accumulate in the mountains behind our house.

Secretly this makes me smile. I say "secretly" because when most people hear this they are appauled. But I am going to say it anyway: "I LIKE WINTER!" (Though Fall is actually my favorite season) I would rather be cold any day then be hot. I do like Spring, but I know that Spring precedes Summer, which means heat. I am actually really enjoying the fact that it is comfortably cool around here and that Winter doesn't want to leave that quickly.

The only bad thing about is that I love exercising in this kind of cool weather, and right now I am laid up with my ankle. By the time it is healed, it will be too hot to walk outside!

I have yet to meet anyone else who shares this passion for Winter. Most think I am insane. I like to believe that I am just a "true Canadian!"

Spiderman, Spiderman...

"Hey Mom, I am Spiderman! But not the red and blue Spiderman. I am a new and better Spiderman."

Cute Stuff

Brynn made a book of her family. It is really cute, so I thought I would share.

This is Alec swinging on the swings.

This is Brynn pushing her doll in a stroller.

This is Gavin with a sword.

This is Mom jumping on a Trampoline. (Though I don't think I have jumped on a Trampoline since I was in High School. Wishful thinking I guess).

This is Dad holding Alec when he was a baby.

I can walk!

I went to my doctor today for my 2 week follow up visit. He took off the stinky, sweaty, uncomfortable cast! I got to wash my foot for the first time in 2 weeks. That felt wonderful! He put me in a boot for 2 weeks, and then I go back to my ankle brace for a month or so. The good news is that I can walk! I need to take it easy for a couple of weeks, but no more crutches (or crushes, as Alec calls them). I can't tell you how nice it is to walk around my house!

My doctor is a funny guy and likes to goof around. When I was going in for surgery he came and wrote his initials on my ankle (I guess they do that so they know which one to cut into, so there aren't mistakes). When Brett had his wrist surgery his doctor drew a smiley face on his wrist. I (joking) complained to my doctor that all I got was his stinking initials, when my husband got a smiley face. He just laughed at me, and then they put me under. Well when they took the cast off my foot today this is what we found:

The 2 places where he cut me open are the eyes. It was pretty funny!

"A Major Award"

Brett's work has been doing a photo contest every month. Employees submit their photos every month and the winning photo is pictured in the company newletter and they receive a gift card. Well Brett took some pictures of the kids flying kites and he decided to submit one of his photos.

He won this month's photo contest!! The theme was "Spring."

Pretty good picture eh?

Update

It has been a week since my surgery. The doctor found more damage then expected, but was able to repair everything. The recovery will be longer then expected, but we have made it a week so far!
Today is the first day that I feel like sitting up. I have been dizzy and a little out of it this past week, but I am now starting to come around and feel like myself again.
Thank you to everyone for your help! I have amazing people around me, and I appreciate all of them so dang much!

Here Goes Nothing!

Looks like I have to have surgery on my lovely foot. Surgery is scheduled for tomorrow. Then I will be laid up for 2 weeks (no driving, no walking). I am not exactly sure how a Mom with 3 kids is supposed to be laid up for 2 weeks. Good thing I have a good husband, family, and neighbors! This will be an adventure. Wish me luck.
