I give up on love and cable cars

I give up on the 28 days of love. I knew it was a bad idea when I started. I am happy that I got half way through the month. My life is too busy to keep up with daily blogging.

Last weekend I did do something that I loved.  I went with some friends in my neighborhood to Park City for a couple of days.

The highlight of the trip:

Having a small panic attack on the lift that takes skiers to the ski lift (can't remember what it is called).  I have a huge fear of being suspended from a cable.  The sky ride at Lagoon just about does me in.  I didn't tell my friends this though.  I thought it was just a simple mind over matter.  Guess what?  The minute the ride started I started to panic and even fell to the floor of the ride.  It was involuntary.  I really struggle with heights and cable cars.  My body decided to react.  Here I am on the bottom of the ride laughing and crying at the same time.
After awhile, I got composed enough to stand up and take a few pictures, though I couldn't look down and every time there was a bump I would freak out.

Me and my friend Josie

Things I love 14

Feb.14th:  I love Valentine's Day. I love showing the people I love a little bit of how much I love them.  I am sappy, and nostalgic.  So Valentine's Day is my kind of holiday.

Presents for my favorite kids (and dog)

Heart french toast for breakfast

Valentines from my kids at school.  Kids make Valentine's so much fun.

Valentine's from Alec's class.  He is dressed up for the Valentine's Tea they do at school.
It is also Alec's half birthday.  He is officially 8 and a half.
(I love that smile so very much)

The things I love 11, 12, and 13

Feb 11th:  I love sugar cookies.  And I love making them with my favorite people.

Feb. 12th:  I love this penguin painting Brynn made for me during art club (Brynn always comes with me and helps if needed, or creates when not needed).
Feb 13th:  I love the kids making Valentine's for class parties.  (Alec is my only kid left who has Valentine's parties with said needed Valentines).  Avenger Valentine's is the choice this year.

I also made Valentine's for my Kindergarteners.

The things I love 7, 8, and 9

Feb 7th:
I love my cat George.  He stares at the back window all day long waiting for it to turn warm.  I swear he thinks that any minute now it will be warm again and he can go outside.

Feb 8th:  Some days it hard to find something to love.  Especially when on day 8 it was my 5th day of having a migraine, and I didn't love much about this day.  (I suppose on this day I loved pain meds, and my bed).

Feb 9th:
I love my # 12.  He played two basketball games in a row that day.

I also loved having a great night out with my husband and some of our friends.  We went to dinner and a movie.  I also love that we don't have to hire a babysitter anymore, and dating my husband has become more of a rule than an exception.

The things I love...5 & 6

Feb 5th: I love my Annie dog. I forgot about what I lover of dogs I was until I got her. I had an awesome dog growing up, and I forgot how much I loved her. Dogs are awesome. They love you so much, they are so innocent, and forgiving, and always happy. My Annie makes me smile every day. It is hard not to smile when you walk in the door and this creature is so excited that you exsist.  We got Annie soon after my Hysterectomy, and honestly she has saved me in many ways.  She is my baby.  I spoil her rotten, and I am okay with that.  How can you not spoil when she looks at you with those puppy dog eyes?

Feb. 6th:  I love this awesome painting of Captain America that my Alec painted for me when he visited me in my Art class today.

The things I love...1, 2, 3, and 4

I had this brilliant idea (I get those occasionally) that I would write about something I love for every day in February. And because I have brilliant ideas does not mean I always follow through with those brilliant ideas. Hence the reason I am starting on the fourth day of February.

And because I have good intentions, but lousy follow through (my laundry pile, my triathlon training, and my started but never finished craft projects, can all vouch for this), we shall see how far I get with this.

 Here are the first 4:

February 1st:  I love that my little boy got enough AR points to "Rock the Halls" at school.  (I also love his solider pose, and "I am trying not to smile," smile.
February 2nd:
I love this new water that I found.  It is helping me get over my Dr. Pepper addiction.  It is seltzer water, but has a hint of lime/raspberry flavor.  It still tastes like seltzer water (which isn't my favorite), but it is doable.  If I squeeze a lime in it and put it in a straw cup, I can trick my brain into thinking it is soda.  I mostly love the fizz of soda, so this is helping me a ton!
February 3rd:
The Superbowl.  I DO NOT LOVE football!  But I do love any occasion where I can make a fun treat.  Hence the "football" chocolate dipped strawberries (I forgot to take a picture and this is the last one.  You can see why, it is a little beat up).
February 4th:
I love this blog.  I have been having a love/hate relationship with it lately.  Sometimes I wonder why I am doing it.  Then my SIL Kim showed me her blog book.  She printed each year of her blog into a book.  I decided to try it.  I printed out 2008. ( I cannot believe that was 5 years ago)!  I looked back at that year and realized that I wouldn't have remembered much of it I hadn't written it down.  I am glad I did.  I now have a desire to blog again.  If only to print it out and look back over the years.
