Alec's Baptism

I honestly can't believe my "baby" is 8 and old enough to be baptized.

Today he was baptized by his dad.

After we had a luncheon at the park.
We had a lot of people come and support Alec.

Halfway through the luncheon the kids decided to go and play by the small river that runs through the park.
Gavin came running back saying Alec was hurt.  Brett and I ran down to the river (you don't want to know the thoughts running through my head: river, and water and hurt kid).  Turns out he got too close to a hornets nest in the river.  He was swarmed and stung by hornets.  He was stung a number of times in the head and once in the hand.  The rest of the day was not so fun.  Hornet stings hurt really bad.  For the next 2 hours he screamed in pain.  We had to take him home early and not everybody got to say goodbye to him.  Poor kid was so upset that his special day turned out so bad.  After a couple hours and some Benedryl and ice packs he started to feel better.  We figure he will never forget his baptism.
