Self Conscience Tooth Loss

Alec lost his first tooth yesterday. (Technically it is his second tooth. The dentist pulled out a defective tooth when he was 3. But this is his first official, natural tooth loss).

I was very surprised at his actions after we pulled the tooth out. He wouldn't open his mouth to show anyone and the cried and worried that he looked funny. He ran and hid in his bed under his covers for a half hour. I have never had a kid be so self conscience about losing a tooth.

(I only got this picture because I told him the tooth fairy wouldn't come if he didn't let me take a picture. (Yeah I am that kind of mom)).



But by this morning he was proudly showing off his lost tooth and couldn't stop smiling at everyone.

This kid has the best smile. And now it is even cuter with holes!
